![]() “Do you know mine?” Carmen countered, and Julia couldn’t really argue with that. “Fine, it’s pretty close - but how do you even know my name?” Carmen mimicked Julia’s pose, crossing their arms with a frown, and Julia rolled her eyes. If it makes you feel better, you caught me!” “Because to me it looks like you’ve been standing out here for… is it two weeks now? In the rain - without an umbrella?” She laughed, doing a small bow with an exaggerated hand flourish. “I’ve caught you,” she said, and wondered breifly why she hadn’t planned out what to say to Carmen once they found her. Julia crossed her arms, not even bothering to dignify that with a response. “Cat got your tongue?” Carmen purred, as if reading Julia’s thoughts. Carmen laughed, stepping closer and watching Julia through slanted eyes, similarly to the way a cat would. Julia was so stunned to see Carmen, she didn’t say anything for several moments. “I’ve got to admit, I admire your dedication.” Julia whirled around, watching Carmen lean against the railing, a black umbrella in her hand. “Are you really going to stand out here all night?” Carmen asked. Nobody ever knew what he was thinking. “Just beat them at their own game,” Chase suggested, trying (and failing) to juggle some apples. Fortunately, it was Zari’s “Prince Charming” (for lack of a better word) that ended up giving Julia the best idea. She, of course, was second, so Julia often wondered about her intentions. “Just focus on your own classes - just because you’re at the top doesn’t mean it’ll last.” “You’re so obsessed with her,” she would scoff. Zari raised her brows every time Julia mentioned it. It wasn’t fair that a Never was so beautiful, was so good at being at being bad, was so perfectly evil.Ĭarmen was the top student, powerful and handsome and she was so in Julia’s head, she couldn’t stop complimenting them. More specifically, Carmen, the worst of them.
